It would seem that as well as coming out on 360, the demo for Mass Effect 3 is hitting PC as well. Presumably this will also mean it’s making an appearance on PS3, but I’ll have to do some checking on that one.
Meanwhile, those who have been wondering: “Will my PC be up to running the game?” Wonder no more! The following is a list of the requirements to run the demo on PC.
Minimum spec:
OS - Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1, Win 7
CPU - 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (equivalent AMD CPU)
RAM - 1GB for XP / 2GB RAM for Vista/Win 7
Disc Drive - 1x speed
Hard Drive - 2.5 GB of free space
Video - 256 MB* with Pixel Shader 3.0 support (Supported chipsets: NVIDIA 7900 or better; ATI X1800 or better. Please note that NVIDIA GeForce 9300, 8500, 8400, and 8300 are below minimum system requirements, as are AMD/ATI Radeon HD3200, HD3300, and HD4350. Updates to your video and sound card drivers may be required.)
Sound - DirectX 9.0c compatible
Recommended spec:
OS - Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1, Win 7
CPU - 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (equivalent AMD CPU)
RAM - 2GB for XP / 4GB RAM for Vista/Win 7
Disc Drive - 1x speed
Hard Drive - 2.5 GB of free space
Video - AMD/ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB or greater, NVidia GeForce 9800 GT 512 MB or greater
Sound - DirectX 9.0c compatible
While just slightly too much for this rig, it is surprising to see the system specs so low, especially if this is representative of the final product in March. Does this mean BioWare has been laying it on thick with optimisation? Or is ME3 just simply not as CPU intensive as other games at the moment? Whatever it is, they’ve certainly made sure that the game is available to as wide an audience as possible.
Mass Effect 3 is out on March 9th for all 3 major platforms.

If you’re a regular to the internet, you will no doubt have at least heard of the term “Brony” by now. Love them or hate them, the fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic are here to stay, but don’t under-estimate their modding abilites.
It would seem that nothing is safe from the ponies, as this latest Skyrim mod shows. Replacing the Dragons with the pony “Fluttershy”, who randomly cries “yay” in a rather quiet attempt at cheering, the result is both hilarious and disturbing. The following video shows the mod in action and I’m not sure whether I should laugh, cry, or run screaming from the room.

I have no words. If anyone, Brony or non-Brony alike, is wondering exactly where the “yay” clip is from, it’s from this skit apparently.

I’m just going to quietly retreat to a corner and rock, reminding myself that something with eyes that dead cannot possibly exist.
