Lucky PC owners are now able to pre-load Bethesda’s upcoming fantasy title through Steam and other D2D services. Those who have pre-ordered the game will be able to download 99% of the game files in preparation for Friday’s release, resulting in less download time and more play time on release. For the curious, that’s about 6Gb’s.
Also of note is the fact that there will be a day one patch to deal with bugs across the platforms, bringing the 360, PS3 and PC versions all up to 1.1 at the same time. I wonder if that’s not so much to fix things as it is the developers messing about with the whole “1” theme.
To pad this otherwise short article out, here are the PC system requirements for those who are looking for them:
Minimum Specs
Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
Processor: Dual Core 2.0GHz or equivalent processor
2GB System RAM
6GB free HDD Space
Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 512 MB of RAM
DirectX compatible sound card
Internet access for Steam activation
Recommended Specs
Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
4GB System RAM
6GB free HDD space
DirectX 9.0c compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with 1GB of RAM (Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 or higher (i.e GTX550Ti); ATI Radeon 4890 or higher).
DirectX compatible sound card
Internet access for Steam activation
To be honest, I’m rather surprised at how low the system specs are for this game, though it is just out of reach of the CPU on this rig. Either way, excitement is in the air and it is so thick, you could cut it with a knife.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be out on the 11th of November for PC, PS3 and 360.

I have also read that some stores are already shipping copy’s 4 day’s early.
Really? Is that standard practice for big games?
It only happened to me once when BF2 was released but afaik. it isn’t standard practice.
